Anna Domańska is an independent filmmaker and reporter coming from Gdańsk. In the winter of 2015, during the peak of the refugee crisis, she travelled to the Balkans to help people who arrived to Europe. Inspired by her experience of personal encounters that greatly differed from images presented by the media, she resolved to provide documentary footage of the process. Her documentary entitled The First Anniversary of the European Borders Closure won the Migration Media Award. Another of her films scheduled for screening at the St. John’s Centre in Gdansk, through project partners The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre, is Learning Greece presenting informal educational initiatives implemented in Athens.
Anna Domańska was also working with Ibrahim Mouhanna on his film UnderWeAre, produced for the Shared History project.
